Inexpensive Activities in the Fox Cities

Finding fun things to do with the kids this summer can be difficult; check out these ideas to have a ball without breaking the bank.

Parks

Pierce Park - Pierce Park got an upgrade this summer with new playground equipment. The large park has plenty to offer including tennis courts, basketball courts, Frisbee golf, and a zipline on the playground.
Town Center Park - Town Center Park sits on 23.8 acres of land in Grand Chute. The park has plenty of green space to move and play on and a playground with multiple climbing features including a mini rock wall.
Washington Park - Washington Park is home to one of the best ways to beat the heat this summer, the splash pad. The splash pad at Washington Park is firefighter themed and open every day from 10am - 8pm.

1000 Islands Environmental Center - Miles of walkable trails and the beauty of nature take center stage at 1000 Islands Environmental Center. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for additional programming offers.
Bubolz Nature Preserve - Bubolz Nature Preserve has over 8 miles of trails waiting to be explored. Check their website often for different activities because they fill up fast.
Heckrodt Wetland Reserve - Three miles of trails, including nearly 4,000 feet of elevated boardwalks, provide access to the wetland habitat to all visitors to explore and enjoy bird watching, walking, and photography.

1000 Islands Environmental Center

Fox Trot Trail - The Fox Trot Trail is a free self-guided walking tour that will take you by historic Fox Cities locations and give you some gorgeous views of the Fox River. The loop is 2.2 miles long, but does have a shortcut for a more scenic route. Stop into our Visitors Center to pick up a brochure complete with facts and a map for the trail.
History Museum at the Castle - Discover the faces and events that define life in the Fox Cities through kid-friendly, interactive, and award-winning exhibits. Their current exhibit, Fox Cities ABCs, pairs historic Fox Cities artifacts with a letter of the alphabet. The museum offers a reduced rate on children's admission.

Fox Cities ABCs at the History Museum at the Castle

Mini Golf - There are currently two courses open for business in the Fox Cities. The Best Western Premier Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center is home to On the Fringe mini golf. Stop by on Tuesdays to get a second round for free. Badger Sports Park has a Wisconsin sports themed course. Putt through Lambeau Field and get a hole in one at Fox Cities Stadium. Answer trivia questions played over the loud speakers to win awesome prizes.
Ice Cream - Wherever your adventure takes you in the Fox Cities a sweet frozen treat is never too far away. Check out our Ice Cream Shops in the Fox Cites blog for all of the spots to grab the good stuff.
