Carter Hulsey is an Americana singer-songwriter from Joplin, Missouri who has played hundreds of shows all across the globe over the last decade. Hulsey’s concepts and narratives are inspired by storytellers such as Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut, and Cormac McCarthy, with musical influences ranging from John Prine and Guy Clark to The Gaslight Anthem. Hulsey’s newest release “Motorcade” (September 2024) blends his love for country roots and storytelling with a modern music pulse. This is his third record working with producer and co-writer Gooding who captured Hulsey's sound in a new and honest way. Carter is also partnered with the non-profit Funding The Future, which uses music to bring the message of financial literacy to young people in underserved communities around the country.
Luke Sheafer, lead singer of the indie rock band Me Like Bees, has been crafting introspective, melancholic songs since he first picked up a guitar. Hailing from Olathe, Kansas, Luke’s earliest influences—Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, and Conor Oberst—shaped his approach to songwriting long before his 15-year journey in indie rock began. Growing up, his father, a carpet layer with a passion for music, introduced Sheafer to the joy of songwriting by jotting down only the titles of his ideas on the backs of cigarette cartons, often forgetting the tunes themselves. Luke’s music delves deeply into themes of heartache and struggle, blending raw vulnerability with a touch of humor and humility. While his solo work remains private and offline by choice, Me Like Bees can be found on all major music platforms.
